windmilling across
the meadow my summer hat
settles for a bit
A very simple haiku in the Sketch from Life mode. Notice how the poet has said everything with images. A sudden breeze lifts the hat from her head, sending it windmilling across the meadow where it finally stops at some distance from her. The last line suggests that it will linger there only “for a bit” before the afternoon breeze picks it up again.
There is a muted, somewhat lighthearted humor in all of this.
